Montana Mayor Kennedy, Kalispell, endorses Hillary for President

As the endorsements continue coming in from the excitement of Hillary's big wins, so too are they coming in from the states in next months primaries.

Today Kalispell Mayor Pam Kennedy announces her endorsement of Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nominee to be President.

Kalispell Mayor Endorses Hillary for President

Kalispell Mayor Pam Kennedy today endorsed Hillary Clinton for President, citing her long record of standing up for Americans and delivering results.

"Hillary Clinton has been standing up for women and families throughout her long career in public service," Kennedy said. "She is the candidate who best understands the issues facing Montana families."

"I am extremely honored to be supported by great Montana leaders across this great state," Clinton said. "From delivering health care to all Montanans to boosting the economy, I look forward to working with Mayor Kennedy on the pressing issues facing Flathead Valley residents when I’m President."

Pamela B. Kennedy has served as mayor of Kalispell since January 2002.

That is just awesome (2.00 / 3)

This is my home valley!! I don't know a damn thing about Kennedy but this bodes well for Hillary- the Flathead and nearby areas will have a pretty big say in who wins Montana.

Good for Senator Clinton.  It's always nice to have support.

Ain't gonna change much, but I'm still glad for the Clinton campaign.

Re: Montana Mayor Kennedy, Kalispell, endorses Hil (1.00 / 2)

Is she a SD?

Cause, again, Obama has gotten 11 (4 SD, 7 RD) today. Has she gotten any, yet? Cause, ya know, she needs like 72% of the remaining delegates to win.  Endorsements are nice, I mean heck Obama got 7 RD's out of Edwards', but you need delegates to win.

Did she get any?

by IowaMike on Thu May 15, 2008 at 02:59:30 PM EST

Re: Montana Mayor Kennedy, Kalispell, endorses Hil (none / 0)

No, but endorsement by the mayor of a town of almost 15,000 has got to be worth something.

Not much--but something.

Re: Montana Mayor Kennedy, Kalispell, endorses Hil (2.00 / 4)

We can appreciate your attempt to try to toot what ever little horn B O has when he keeps losing elections by a landslide, on the Hillary diary.

I'm sure you appreciate Hillary and her supporters for not inundating any Obama diaries you might have with all of Hillary's endorsements.  We have a big, accepting and tolerant tent and will have a great country under a Hillary Presidency.

Re: Montana Mayor Kennedy, Kalispell, endorses Hil (1.33 / 3)

I'm just saying she needs that 72%. Edwards' endorsement at least came with 7 RD's today. She needs to have some SD's come out, or RD's to switch.

So, unless you are talking time travel back to the 90's, I don't think this gets you any closer to a Clinton White House.

No, anyone who endorses Obama will be called a Judas, irrelevant, or paid off.  This is virtually without exception.

Back to the substance of the thread - congratulations to Hillary Clinton for getting an endorsement!

For the presumptive nominee to lose a Democratic primary by 41 percentage points would seem to me to be losing by a ... what's the word? ... oh yeah, landslide!

Re: Montana Mayor Kennedy, Kalispell, endorses Hil (2.00 / 1)

Iowa Mike,

Listen, did someone inform you that Obama needs Hillary, more than Hillary needs Barack for November ???

If no one did, then, I am informing you.

As the famous Tim Russert said,

"Whether Obama will be addressed as President Obama on January 2009 will depend much much more on how many democrats end up voting for him. He cannot be our next President without solid support from Clinton democrats."

Learn your politics & drop the arrogance. You are absolutely NO POSITION to be cute. NONE

No Clinton supporters, No President Obama.

Understrand ??? ! You better.

Re: Montana Mayor Kennedy, Kalispell, endorses Hil (2.00 / 1)

Jordache,

I think you are barking at the wrong tree.

You have to teach your Obama comrade to learn humilty as opposed to arrogance.

If you don't see anything wrong with his post, then you are no better.

Learn !!!

P.S. Without Clinton supporters, there will only be President John McCain in November. Learn!!!

Do you understand... (none / 0)

That if this goes to convention, no matter the nominee, we lose.

The only time it went to the floor and we won the election was with FDR, and the Great Depression assured his win.

Just understand that when we have a nominee (which mathematically will almost certainly be Obama in early June), well, take your own advice.

Comprehend?

Take it from some one who knows (2.00 / 1)

Montana is certainly nothing like Idaho, nor is it like Wyoming. It is closer to WA state, if any of its regional pals (Montanans tend to think of themselves as NorthWesterners - At least the western half of the state does)- but just barely. And, its not a caucus- like WY...

If Hillary is getting endorsements from a Flathead Valley mayor, then she support there, probably Libby and the Yaak as well. She probably also has support on the south end of the lake in the Mission Valley.

Obama's support will be Missoula and probably Helena, Hillary will probably win Butte, Billings and the reservations- the rest of the state, is up for grabs.

Re: You know little about Montana (2.00 / 1)

I know...

...Montana borders Idaho (Obama 80-17)
...and Wyoming (Obama 61-38)
...and North Dakota (Obama (61-37)
...and hasn't been polled this year, but the other neighboring state, South Dakota, was in April, and it was Obama +12

So, I'll put up that amount of relevant knowledge.

Obama goes to town in the West and Midwest. he may have an Appalachia problem, but Hillary has a SERIOUS problem with we midwesterners. Also why McCain won't win Michigan.

Near Glacier National Park. (2.00 / 1)

Beautiful country up there in the Flathead Valley.  It's the wealthiest part of the state (Whitefish and Columbia Falls are the location of the biggest spreads).  This is likely where the biggest donor base is located.  My partner is from Hungry Horse, so we go up there a lot.

Flathead Becon - 5/15/08
As Montana's Democratic primary looms both Clinton and Barack Obama have been touting endorsements from the state's party brass. Obama, however, has been endorsed by three of the state's eight all-important superdelegates, with the five others undeclared.
