It Feels Like We're Living His Next Work of Fiction

Obama makes up so much, we can't tell what is truth or tale anymore.  It's starting to feel like we are living through his next work of Fiction, slated for release next year.

If the media wasn't trying to cover for him, either out of embarrassment, or because they don't want to tip their hand yet, we would be laughing silly with his countless misspeaks and gaffes.

"On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes — and I see many of them in the audience here today — our sense of patriotism is particularly strong", Barack Obama

Except when they are reckless lies about someone else or their record.  As he has resorted to with Senator Clinton.  But he has since started expanding his focus and is now getting quite the reputation as the the False Accuser.

"It’s a trend that undermines Barack Obama’s credibility"

"McCain camp calls Obama 'recklessly dishonest"

"Obama blames Lou Dobbs
Speaking in Florida, Sen. Barack Obama blamed Lou Dobbs for the rise in hate crime. CNN's Bill Tucker reports."

(at a closed Fundraiser in Florida)

"Obama Points a Finger at Lou"
Presidential candidate Barack Obama last week took aim at Lou Dobbs and this broadcast, saying, “There’s a reason why hate crimes against Hispanic people doubled last year. If you have people like Lou Dobbs and Rush Limbaugh ginning things up, it’s not surprising that would happen.” Click here for our report
.

But it went even further this past Memorial Day, when he appeared in Las Cruces, NM, when his fabricated tales was an effort to politicize the Holocaust, not just agitate and incite with Hispanic voters in Florida as he did with Lou Dobbs.

"In one of his more egregious and easily demonstrated lies, made even more so by the day he decided to let it loose on, Obama has rewritten WWII history such that the allies liberated Auschwitz."

" Despite not having served in the military himself, Barack Obama used his Memorial Day remarks to speak about his family’s service. “My grandfather marched in Patton’s army, but I cannot know what it is to walk into battle like so many of you,” he told a small group of veterans here. “My grandmother worked on a bomber assembly line, but I cannot know what it is for a family to sacrifice like so many of yours have.”

Obama said he supports the new GI Bill because of his grandfather’s experience in the program after World War II. “We should make sure that today’s veterans get the same benefit that my grandfather got when he came back from World War II,” Obama said. “It was a good investment not only for him, but it was a good investment for the country, built our middle class. So we're going to make sure that that gets passed.”

Obama also spoke about his uncle, who was part of the American brigade that helped to liberate Auschwitz.   He said the family legend is that, upon returning from war, his uncle spent six months in an attic. “Now obviously, something had really affected him deeply, but at that time there just weren’t the kinds of facilities to help somebody work through that kind of pain,” Obama said. “That’s why this idea of making sure that every single veteran, when they are discharged, are screened for post-traumatic stress disorder and given the mental health services that they need – that’s why it’s so important."

Oh, is that why?

"(CNN) — The Republican National Committee accused Barack Obama Tuesday of a lack of judgment after the Illinois senator mistakenly said that his uncle helped liberate the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz while serving in the American military during World War II.

In fact, that concentration camp was liberated by Soviet soldiers in 1945.

Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton released a statement later Tuesday clarifying the remarks, saying the Illinois senator meant to refer to the Buchenwald camp, which American soldiers did liberate. Obama was also apparently referring to his great uncle, Charles Payne.

“Senator Obama’s family is proud of the service of his grandfather and uncles in World War II – especially the fact that his great uncle was a part of liberating one of the concentration camps at Buchenwald."

OK, so it wasn't Auschwitz, it was Buchenwald his Uncle took part in, and it was actually his Great Uncle.  What other parts of what Senator Obama said should we look in to?  I'm sure most of us never thought we would have to go so far as to check the truths of Senator Obama's recounts and history of his own family members that he chooses to invoke on his campaign stump.

His opinion, as you call it, is hate speech. Nice to see Dems defend it though. There's a difference between censorship (government shutting off speech) and acknowledgement of something being hate speech. Matt Hale can say what he wants but he speaks hate and it has gotten people killed. It's not complicated unless you also share the opinion. Then you have to twist and turn to defend it. Sort of like what you're doing.

is getting very old. However I give the writer credit for taking at least five meaningless diaries today and lumping it into one,

So?? (2.00 / 3)

Okay, Linda, but OUR candidate said she was under sniper fire. ALL politicians misspeak, embellish, "misremember", etc. We were furious when Obama supporters wouldn't quit harping on Tulza, but now you think we should pay them back by grabbing hold of this nonissue? Can't we try to be better than that? I've also gotten the impression that it may have been an honest mistake, anyway.

"There's a reason why hate crimes against Hispanic people doubled last year. If you have people like Lou Dobbs and Rush Limbaugh ginning things up, it's not surprising that would happen." Click here for our report

Actually, I'm very disappointed in Obama for those remarks... He left out BillO, and god knows O'Reilly's done as much damage as anybody. Tsk, tsk, Obama. So forgetful! ;)

Re: So?? (1.33 / 3)

I would say there is much more than a misspeak.  And how it was used on top of that.

Also, an incredible record of many misspeaks as I said, some of them not so humerous when there attempts to discredit others with false tales.

Too many to site, and I'm sure the Obama supporters should be appreciative of me not trying to recount the many.

But, here is a diary with even a recent lie that isn't so funny either.

You don't seem to understand what the word 'lie' means.

Lost rate and rec for issuing a '1' to a trollish comment. The troll, not so much.

Re: (none / 0)

I have several aunts and uncles... excuse me, GREAT aunts and uncles, that I just call "Aunt" or "Uncle"...  I don't say, Hey, Great Auntie Blanche....

As for the difference between Auschwitz and Buchenwald, he clarified the statement, he wasn't the one personally dodging sniper fire while ducking into... Oh, sorry, different person. He wasn't the one personally involved, so it's understandable he might misspeak it, It's possible he was told Auschwitz as a boy because it's the most recognizable camp to most people... But you knew all that, you're just looking for nits to pick.

Just like his gaffe on the fallen soldiers.  Bad thing to say? Yeah, probably. Maybe missed a few words, or even an entire line in his speech like:

"On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes [and those who have fought for this nation's freedoms] -- and I see many of them in the audience here today -- our sense of patriotism is particularly strong"

It happens.  I mean, it's not like he was insisting that he did IN FACT solve nearly a hundred years of fighting between Catholics and Protestents over tea.

Rises to the level of unfit for the Presidency? No, that would be confusing Sunni and Shia and accusing a country that we're already on shaky ground with of training al Queda.

But you go ahead and pick at that scab of defeat, if it makes you feel better.  These are not the gaffes that Hillary is hoping for to save her candidacy.  These are mere blips that will not make any difference in the big scheme of things.

This:

and this:

on the other hand, DOES make a big difference, in the big scheme of things, so keep trying to tear down our likely nominee, and probably future President.  I hope it helps you heal.

Does it ever actually bother you that the only way you can support your candidate is by using GOP talking points against her opposition?  Does she really have so little to offer?  Is this all just a case of identity politics gone bad?

Unbelievable.  This is more unhinged than the "OMG BUSH CAUSED 9/11!!!!!!!" insanity.

This is MyDD?  Does Jerome really understand what the last ten months has done to his brand?  Just go the whole nine and require an AOL account with dialup.

Re: It Feels Like We're Living His Next Work of Fi (2.00 / 1)

You know, I can hardly believe that you are allowed to stay here in MyDD.  There are some thoughtful, logical, dedicated people who post here and debate the finer points of the candidates, discuss how they feel and argue on the merits...but too many diaries seem to be dominated by RNC talking point bullshit.

The Site Admins really need to take a hard look at what they are allowing to troll up their site.  When  I can find a single little turdling of made up crapola grunted out by the GOP spincycle right here, posted by you and one or two other people, there is definitely something wrong.

Just because you say you like Clinton should not be a carte blanche for this sort of character assassination and regurgitation of bile and bullshit.

I would troll rate you, which you deserve for this fetid piece of offal, but I would probably be banned or have my priveleges removed.

...and the sad part is you can probably still troll rate....sad sad sad.

Hold on, everybody!  This one is almost as big as fingergate!

In all seriousness, I hope that a lot of the supporters for both candidates can look back at some diaries here a year from now and laugh at some of these ridiculous "issues" that they were angry about.  Excitable supporters of both of our fine candidates have spent so much time manufacturing outrage that they don't even know how to express their anger anymore.

For now, the more sane among us will have to watch some people keep quoting right wing sites like "Ace of Spades" and Michelle freaking Malkin to attack the likely nominee of the Democratic party.  Here's hoping we'll laugh in a year.

Re: It Feels Like We're Living His Next Work of Fi (2.00 / 1)

BO made a reference to Auschwitz in his 2002 speech against Iraq war. At that time it was his grandfather who heard about Auschwitz.

Obama 2002 speech

Quote:
"Good afternoon. Let me begin by saying that although this has been billed as an anti-war rally, I stand before you as someone who is not opposed to war in all circumstances.

The Civil War was one of the bloodiest in history, and yet it was only through
the crucible of the sword, the sacrifice of multitudes, that we could begin to perfect this union, and drive the scourge of slavery from our soil. I don't oppose all wars.

My grandfather signed up for a war the day after Pearl Harbor was bombed, fought in Patton's army. He saw the dead and dying across the fields of Europe; he heard the stories of fellow troops who first entered Auschwitz and Treblinka. He fought in the name of a larger freedom, part of that arsenal of democracy that triumphed over evil, and he did not fight in vain.

I don't oppose all wars."
In 2008, the story changed from grandfather to uncle. But this time his uncle not just heard about Auschwitz. BO said his uncle actually went to Auschwitz.

Quote:
"..an uncle who was one of the..ah..who's part of the first American troops to go to Auschwitz and liberate the concentration camp."

You be the judge if this is an innocent mistake or a deliberate act to exaggerate family history for political gain.
